Experienced a vast array of tempting foods - PigOut offered pulled pork masquerading as an Icecream Sundae. Layers of Pulled Pork and Garlic Mash were topped with Barbecue Sauce and Crispy Onions. Guests included a TV News Crew from Toronto who were intriqued by the whole pig roast cooking on the stand.
Toronto's Metro Convention Centre had the foresight to allow 5lb propane cyclinders to be operated indoors on the show floor which allowed us have a whole pig roast and to heat, hot hold and serve meat and mash directly from the Roaster. The food was realy hot which kept public health and our customers very happy. For the more traditional customer we also served Pulled Pork Sliders on freshly baked Italian Buns.
A couple of vegetarians took um bridge at the sight of the whole pig roast however the hundreds of guests that took photos of the show stopper were delighted to see 'real food'. We received inquiries for catering everything from Weddings, Dog Sledge Racing and Ice Fishing Trips.
Our Pulled Pork is made simply by slow roasting pork and then pulling it, adding our gluten free own recipe Barbecue sauce and heating to 72 deg C before serving. Each foil chafing pan holds 13lb of pulled pork and fills 80/100 sliders or sundaes.
We met some great people at the show including Gunns Hill Artisan `sheep`Cheese from Woodstock.
